Taking notes
Ben at work mentioned a Firefox extension that lets you highlight a bit of text on a page and click "make a note" to make a little post-it note. I reckon that these little notes should be stored online, so you can get at them from multiple places. I also have little notes on my desktop to remind me to do stuff; these should all be the same thing, notes stored online. Use cases for little notes: * Remind me to do something * A bit of info that I don't want to lose and need to come back later
"Remind me to do something" has a date and time by which you need to do it, maybe. This crosses over into calendar territory. Can't help thinking that there must be a way to unify all this stuff; reminders, notes, everything.
Have a bookmarklet which adds the highlighted text in your browser as a note? Gnome client which populates the desktop notes with those from the website?
None of this crap works without a proper net connection, but who cares? Everyone should get broadband.
