Make all my mail work better by:
IGNORE. All this was fixed instead by forwarding my mail through gmail. Works perfectly. It's the network-connected world.
- Install clamav on angel (it has been backported) DONE
- Install clamassassin so I can filter through clamav from procmail DONE
- Run the clamd daemon so that it works fast at processing mails and doesn't start clamav anew every time a mail comes in DONE
- Pipe my mail through clamassassin on angel, using procmail, as described here DONE
- Set up the clamav autodownloader thing to keep angel's virus descriptions up to date DONE (I think, Debian's doing it)
- Install spamassassin on angel
- Run the spamd daemon so that it works fast at processing mails and doesn't start spamassassin anew every time a mail comes in
- Pipe my mail through spamassassin on angel, using procmail (after the clamav stuff because I get more virus mail than I do spam), as described here (ignoring that page's postfix specificity)
- Set up Exim filters on giles to filter mail into other folders based on the Spamassassin or ClamAV added headers (eventually we might do this on angel and thus save even the effort of downloading them) DONE (scanning also happens on giles)
- Use Evolution. Gotta buy into all that Gnome shit. NOT DONE, because Evo sucks dick.
- Install OpenWebMail (in Debian!) on giles, which reads mail spools NOT DONE (IlohaMail instead)
