"you just can’t beat that handwashed crockery,"

Well you can, but then you need to buy new crockery.

Good stress relief, though

Yeah, straight up. Either a bloke told me in a pub, or I read it on the internet. Either way, must be true!
But, yes, it does the trick. Search uk.d-i-y for full details

Top tip.. Rather than spending money on dishwasher cleaners, simply add a drop of washing up liquid to every wash. This will break down and remove the fatty deposits in the same way as dishwasher cleaner.

Ha! You've been told! Unluck fella.

I, on the other hand, have the wonderful feeling of achievement when I wash our dishes by hand. I know this might seem a little "old-skool" for most people, but you just can't beat that handwashed crockery, knowing that you're not going to pull a dish out the washer which still has some welded on cheese or that horrible chalky feel. PLUS you know what washing liquid looks like and can't get it mixed up with, say, shampoo.

Heh. I see your point. But the dishwasher cleanrer one does have an image of a "sparkling dishwasher", whereas the other has an image of "sparkling glasses/kitchenware".
