I had pancake day early yesterday and was introduced to pancakes with grated apple, golden syrup, and cinnamon. Yum!

You English STRANGE. Cinnamon sugar is the One True Way. In South Africa, pancakes are standard church fete food -- you get them with cinnamon sugar, rolled up in greaseproof paper. Gorgeous.

I make mine like this:-

4 oz 125g Self Raising flour.

1 medium egg.

4 fl oz Pasteurisd milk.

4 fl oz Water (a little at a time).

Oil to cook it in.

Serve with Sugar and Jif Lemon.

Yum.
