nordle: I haven’t tried nevow because I’m completely terrified of twisted. I just don’t get it. And Subway pissed me off; I don’t like MVC things, and it seemed like a slavish imitation of Rails. The Rails people have got a good thing going on, but it’s not for me, and Subway just annoyed the hell out of me.

Having said this: I have just looked at nevow, and it doesn’t seem to be anything to do with twisted, on a ten-second perusal. Why did I think it was? I shall look at it.

Ahaha! A further ten seconds reveals that nevow is a twisted thing. I am scared of twisted.

Its like the alcoholic family sketches from the fast show “Dads home….mmmm you smell nice, whats for dinner…Dads home…” I waited another 10 seconds, but no more ahaha’s, so you don’t like twisted because its…ehh.. twisted.. :)

I must confess to not even knowing what a web construction kit is, Im sure the clue is in the name :) But even reading the about pages on the sites and Im not sure what exactly they do, only that it sounded vaguely in tune with some of the things I’ve heard you do..again more vagueness “Aq does web stuff, and this is web stuff“, the link was there :)

Some people are dead against any form of gui/ide/kit which puts stuff together for them, “text editors only + I write 100% my own code“. Personally I think if it helps to make a job faster, easier, more sucessful, then roll with it. I’m committed to the life long path of laziness, but I prefer to call it efficiency.

nevow was built by the same peopl who do twisted, but it’s quite optional to use twisted, you can just set it to render pges and forget all abotu the twisted crap if you want.

It feels like ZPT on steroids.
