On I wrote LugRadio series 2 episode 9, on the subject of LugRadio.

Well, LugRadio 2×09 is out and has been linked from Slashdot. Server in “holding up fine under the strain” shocker, too, which is pretty cool news.
It was a really good episode; Miguel de Icaza talked about Mono, among other things. Go get it.

This was the first episode where we had the bit torrent framework in place prior to the public announcement. Just as well really. Bit torrent downloads alone appear to be responsible for approximately 650 copies of the episode. This will have kept much of the heat off the main mirrors, although I expect they were hammered pretty hard too.

davee: they have indeed been hammered pretty hard, although having the BT stuff up has been great. As said on the LR forums, I’m happy to publish BT links as long as there will be long-term seeding; the site stays up, and the episodes stay downloadable, long after release, and so if BT stuff is only there to alleviate the initial rush of downloads then I’d prefer the links to go to the forums or whatever, to save us site maintenance.

Matt

There have been 650 downloads on BitTorrent? Wow. So, that’s getting on for 6,000 downloads in total.

Aq, have you any more thoughts on permanently seeding the BT links on dublin.lugradio.org or master.lugradio.org?

sil

Matt: I have, and probably will do, once I get to sit down and think about it a bit :)
