So, I put down the deposit on a Fiat Coupe 2.0 20V Turbo in Broom Yellow. It’s really, really. cool. Should be picking it up in a fortnight or so. It’s also a space rocket. Acceleration, jeez. I thought it was going to rip off my face at one point — tickle the accelerator slightly and it’s doing eighty. Oof. It’s lovely; black leather seats, Pininfarina styling, 0-60 in 6.0s, etc etc. Pictures when I get it and a digital camera in the same place. You may take the smug “my car is faster than yours” look as read. Can’t wait!

Hi Alan,
I bought a 1998 Red 20v Turbo in Nov. 2006 and fell in love with the car. The gear lever was stiff and felt as if the gate was at an angle but I was prepared to put up with it. When a front brake pipe collapsed I asked the mechanic to check out the gear change and it turned out that a linkage pin had seized near the gearbox end under the battery tray. With this fixed the gear change feels sweet like a new car. My coupe has just hit 96000 miles and is still going strong and fast.

I HAVE A YR 2000 FIAT COUPE TURBO 5 CYL ABARTH IN METTALLIC BLUE
THE GEARSTICK IS VERY STIFF IN THE SIDEWAY DIRECTION ONLY AND IT DOESNT SELF CENTRE
ANY IDEAS FOR EASY LUBRICATION TO RECTIFY??

usually if they loose oil pressure it if because the oil radiator pipes rust through and spray oil everywhere. It a fairly common fault as the pipes site in the undertray and it gets ful of crap. Google for Fiat Coupe Forum where there is lots of advice on these wonderful cars

I HAVE A FIAT COUPE 16V TURBO IN BROOM YELLOW;), JUST GONE BACK UNDER ITS MONTHS WARRANTY TO HAVE A NEW ENGINE. THE OLD ONE LOST OIL PRESSURE AND DESTROYED IT:(
IT ONLY HAD 79K ON IT. IS THERE ANY REASON THEY CAN JUST LOSE PRESSURE LIKE THAT?
THE CAR IS IN MINT CONDITION BUT REALLY DONT WANNA SELL IT. HOW LIKELY IS IT THAT THE RECONDITIONED WORKING ENGINE THEY ARE PUTTING IN IT NOW WILL DO THE SAME THING AS MY OLD ONE? …BECAUSE I WONT HAVE WARRANTY TO COVER ME THIS TIME.
CANT AFFORD TO TAKE THE RISK, BUT IF ITS NOT A COMMON PROBLEM ILL BE MORE INCLINED TO KEEP IT:D
