Unfortunately I cannot find the Bookmark All Tabs button in Opera (8.02), I know that Firefox and also Mozilla has it, but it seems Opera doesn't have this essential feature at the right place.

Opera has four startup options:
1)Continue from last time (which I use)
2)Start with saved session (works just like you think it does – great for starting each day with the same 10-20 sites)
3)Start with no pages
4)Start with home page

7.20 also has a new feature which I use all the time – a recently closed window submenu with a keyboard shortcut to the most recent. Close a tab you didn’t mean to? Hit Ctrl+Alt+Z to bring it back – beats wading through the history.

It all got a bit out of hand at one point when I registered about thirty tabs that “needed something doing about“.

Now, the tabbrowser extension is much used. I make use of “bookmark these groups of tabs” a lot, use tab groups to manage related webpages and have equivalent of the the inbox in my bookmarks which I try to clear down everyday.

It has had the odd effect of me blogging less; although that might be for other reasons.

Also, tbe lets you start up with the same tabs that you closed down with. Doubt that would survive through an upgrade though.

(p.s. I love the way your preview button works, never used it before)

I’ve never thought about it as ‘tyranny’ but I can relate to the problem. Often I’ll bookmark all the open tabs and save it in the toolbar temporarily in order to quit, reboot, upgrade, etc. Then I can easily relaunch all those tabs when I get it back up. A preference to save all the open tabs might be nice. I think Opera has something like that.
