I’m almost disapointed that I only got 22. Interesting questions. As Ned said, people will “high level” (sorry don’t know the correct term for this) will not know how to answer half these questions.

i scored 26 My identical twin was diagnosed with autism and i am wondering if i have it.

as a special ned teacher i have often notice that students with autism or asbergers seem to have a special way of working with computers, they seem to ba able to understand how computers wotk and how to communicate with them in a way which is way above us ordinary mortals! my score wa 16! And boy am i crap with a pc! this sems to me to be an amazing talnet and one that people should recognise and be proud of

Does anyone know why dyslexia is considered part of the autism spectrum? 

I've got dyslexia, but have never been told of diagnostic wotsits that seem to overlap with autism.  However, I guess some of my personality is like the "autism stereotype".... What are the "official" similarities or cross-over traits?

I think that dyslexia is definitely seen as part of the autism spectrum of disorders, along with dyspraxia. I think that modern medical thinking has realised that they are all related to parts of the brain that deal with communication, in one way or another, and so influence each other. Not a doctor though, so JMHO

I took the test and I got 49 points so I went to a special type of doctor and I am diagnosed dyslexia. I am very autistic it kinda scares me.

Hi  I scored 25 and have recently dicovered I am a 'compensated' dylexic. I did manage to get a University degree in history a  few years back but found the whole experience exceptionally hard work. My mums twin brother had severe learning problems.Did someone mention that depression makes you autistic- or is it that being autistic makes you dipressed? Does this mean I am also autistic?

a test can only tell so much and people learn different things througouth their lifetime. depression and autism seem to be things which could feed off of one another though..

Interesting considering that on several questions I answered slightly agree/disagree.  I recently attempted to verify my diagnosis by going to the University of Pittsburgh and partipating in their research study.

And recently when I was seeking Adderol (for weight loss) and told the doctor I had adhd so I could attain it, he somehow figured out that I had Asperger's also.  This was amazing to me.

I have taken the 2003_BCetal_sysquoAS test. My scores were 64 for the SQ and 14 for the EQ. I have A Levels in Physics and Chemistry. It appears I have an extreme case of AS. I have contacted someone about getting a diagnosis. Am still waiting.

I was looking for information on autism because my baby cousin is showing signs similar to what I did when I was young. I got 36. I had a psychologist who thought I may be slighty autistic when I was younger because I enjoyed killing things (grew out of that luckily), stealing/hording, lying. Fortunately I have no learning difficulties but can't deal with flourescant lights, sunlight and can't walk in a straight line. I can also hear when my parent's cars are nearing from the different engine sounds and don't like to make eye contact and often can't create sentences.

I got 27. I reckon they don't tell people what their score means to deliberately annoy the ones who have autism (or close to it) :)

I scored 37. My wife has been insisting I have this "problem" for several years. There is no question I fit this "profile", but what makes it a "disease?" How about a "personality type", instead? And, even if she is correct, what are the practical implications of a confirmed diagnosis? Nothing. Let's just get on with life and try to be kind to our loved ones and the rest of humanity. That's the best way to be happy.

I'm with Richard and kian here. I think if you got a 32 or so like me, let's just get on with our lives. I'd favor calling it a personality type instead of a "problem". If you're depressed, maybe it's because you're a square peg trying to fit in a round hole.

Autistic people can see the world differently, patterns and fluid realities where others just see nothing. Maybe it's a blessing, too.

I have Asperger Syndrome. There are a few questions you'd hafta ask yourself to find out.

  1. How many good friends did you have in school?

  2. Have you ever, ever had a date (this doesn't neccessarily disclude you b/c you could have been extremely lucky)

  3. Do you have a profound habit to tap your fingers or your feet when sitting in a highly populated setting, such as lets say, a bar or a coffee house, or a ball game?

  4. Have you had trouble working fast enough to hold down jobs?

  5. Do you feel alienated by others' reactions when you try to socialize (if not then they'll make you feel alienated anyways, especially g-boys and women. G-boys because theyr spoiled rich brats and they think that makes them cool, and women b/c they think they rule the world between their legs)?

I scored 35 & also answer 1 & yes to most of Warrens Q's, but I've been called 'very attractive' & this may be why I've had few problems dating (alcohol induced).

Does this mean I have Aspergers?

My partner who is a primary SN co-ord was the one who got me looking into this area as she suggested I may have some kind of ASD. I laughed this off until I realised that there is such a thing as 'high-functioning' ASD.

I’m 16 years old and I scored 40. I have no idea if I have autism or ADD but on all the tests I did, I scored high and I guess it’s likely.

I scored 38. Which may explain why my friends constantly tell me to shut up when I speak to them. Their other favorite line is “yeah, whatever chloe” usually followed be a subject change. So does that mean I have aspergers or something. I was dx’d with High Functioning autism recently. Have known for 13 years but only just got the formal dx. I think there are hundreds, maybe thousands, of undiagnosed auties and aspies out there.

Ive done these tests before but you cant really put a true answer, if you know about autism then you know your own weaknesses. You start to believe you dont have them and then you dont know what the true answer is.

I talk way to much, on & on & on, etc…. Did very bad in school, til I guit, later graduating at the top of my class. Its called CRAMING. Never could spell well or deal w/math. Cant remember. i find when i read the comments others have made it is like i am looking at my own life. I scored a 30 on the test but am not sure what that means. i have a 3yr old son who is showing signs of autism. I guess i just wanted to see what the test was all about.

I scored 28, I am 17 and I am not sure if I have autism or something similair. Maybe getting stoned alot is the reason for my imperfections and weirdities, which many might say “of course, that’s the reason you idiot!” but I strongly feel that being stoned often simply might enhance whatever’s wrong with me, but not at all the cause as I have always had more or less the same actions and feelings. Also, I am very rarely stoned in school, though it enhances my paranoia and does make school alot harder for me. I often find coping at school very hard, get offended very easily, am quite clumsy sometimes, get very anxious when eye contact is made (mainly by people I dont know, don’t like or don’t trust very much), very often get sidetracked or distracted by other things in lessons and then remember where I am and what I should be doing and find it hard to get back into the lesson and get lost (making me feel like a dumbass, or slow, or just not right), forget things I’m thinking/writing by getting distracted, get jealous and nornally can’t understand why, often feel suspicious of my girlfriend and people in general, usually feel guilty (sometimes with reason sometimes without), am extremely affected by people’s reactions to me and people often don’t understand me or give me strange looks, which leads me to feel there are things very wrong with me and I get very defensive often so instantly, not letting people know very much when they talk to me, even about the littlest things. I find it extremely hard to let anyone know alot of these problems and am sometimes anxious about opening my mouth and giving my opinion on things, as I feel I have many answers for most things I am asked. Also, I have a tendency to say random things which I find amusing, sometimes making noises for fun, though I personally just find this to be my humour but many people’s reactions and responses lead me to believe otherwise. blah blah blah maybe i’m just paranoid ;o) sorry that was so long, i had alot to say!

I had extreme difficulty in school and with knowledge generally until my sophomore year in college when I discovered Plato. Now everything makes an increasing amount of sense in my head and the clearer it becomes in thought, the less I am able to talk about it. I scored 34. Similar experiences? Ways of talking? My memory is unique in what it records.

I took the test twice. The first time I used all 4 levels of agree/disagree. The second time I only used the strong agree/disagree. Test one: 31 test two: 42

I suffered major depression for much of my life, starting with early learning problems and exacerbated by head/body trauma.

That has passed and through Jesus I’ve clawed my way to happiness. I’m getting into shape physically and I’m trying to expand my life and horizons. Keeping cool is a big part of relieving anxiety. I use deep breathing and self-awareness to ease the tension.

I guess the point is as long as you are functioning pratically speaking you are able to create a life for yourself. It may take a lot of post-it notes and some determination but it can happen.

I first thought I might have some kind of impairment when I worked at a day camp with a young autistic child. I saw a lot of myself in him and found it easy to communicate with him… maybe this test explains why.

I got a 27, I think that’s why I’m different from everybody else in my school. I’m 15 and until now I still have a kind of hard time socializing with others. I only have a few friends and the rest of the kids have a whole lot. But, it’s not as bad as the time when I was younger, and didn’t have any friends in school. However, I am good at remembering stuff like birth dates, etc. than a lot of people.

I got a 33, but I think I may have misunderstood a couple questions and accidentally put the wrong answer, so my score could possibly be higher or lower, depending. Anyways, I’m 14, I have terrible depression and I also have OCD. I’ve never had a ton of friends, and I have high anxiety as well. Depression, OCD, Asperger’s, and Anxiety isn’t a normal mixture, is it? Could my score just be a mixture of my other ‘disorders?’ Am I just a Hypochondriac? I’m not sure, because, with the Autism, I’m not good at socializing at all, I’m often obsessive over little things, I rock back and forth all the time, to the point where I get random people at school asking if I have a problem, and more, but I remember EVERYTHING and I can always understand people, etc… It’s all sort of confusing…

This is so intense. I’ve read these comments and I see my entire life. I’m a nearly 24 woman and scored 43 on the test. I have been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder, OCD, and a few other things but I am going to talk with my P-doc about the possibility of having Aspergers.

Chrissy, the disorders you mention (depression, OCD, Aspergers…) have been known to occur together (called co-morbidity). While one does not lead to the other researchers say they can occur together.

To the people with Asp/Autism: We (?) are often very intellegent (so-called “left brained” people) who are good with numbers, languages, math etc., anything that has an order to it we are very good at dealing with in many cases. It is also very possible for us to lead normal, productive lives, it just takes that much more effort socially. Computers were originally desiged for people with this sort of disorder. If you ever need a job just learn how to program a computer, I bet you’ll get it in no time. As for our social flaws we need to understand and ACCEPT the way society works. I believe that if we are able to find a ROLE for ourselves we can create CONFIDENCE for ourselves and build from there. I’ve experienced confidence a few times in life and it’s like my brain sees things differently, the way everyone else sees things. I think it’s great that I have my mind, I don’t htink I’d trade it with anyone elses, but I do need to fine tune parts of it.

I soccered a fifty, but’s obvious to me I’m autistic. nuthin wrong with autism, but the bipolar/alienation part does suck on occasion. It is hard not to blow people’s minds, I try not to and it fureeks them out. My doc is surprised that I am alive. I do have a hard time with the whole world thing, but I have also had a hard time with the drugs, Prozac has been the only anti depressant that my system hasn’t rejected, and seizures are weird. I’ve a naturally high math understanding, and why, I don’t understand. They call it a gift, I call it a toy, I never bget bored, and god is real.

I have a 12 year old son who is being tested for aspergers syndrom. Why did I not detect this sooner? what kind of mother am I? He does not make eye contact and only talks about his dog. What do I do from here?

Hi guys, I’m 17 and diagnosed with atypical autism, semantic pragmatic disorder or whatever, i got 23 on the test and i was so honest, are you sure this test is altogether reliable?

I just scored 40. I take it then that this is a particularly high score? Which could help make a bit of sense to certain aspects of myself. For example I am an I.T technician for my local school. And have an affinity for science etc, yadda yadda. Hmmm, chin up (:-)

Both partner and I scored 29 in test, we have son with autism, have we got autistic tendancies? What does 29 mean?

ASD have 3 main traits and all of us have a tendancy to lean towards a few, so, in a way we are all mildly or have more severe autism.
So far as DYSLEXIA and autism; the cross over is understanding patterns; autistic people tend to comprehend numerical patterns with ease, however, literacy does not follow the same rules e.g how to we know when to use PH or F, SH or TION? because of this ASD people tend to show tendancies towards dyslexia. As for the test… I scored 33, I’m not autistic, even if I was it would not be a way to measure my life.
My son is 7 and is on the Autistic spectrum, he laughs, cries and a bit odd but he will learn love and enjoy too.

I got 37 on the test. I had severe communication problems as a child(now not so bad thankfully), have above average mathematical ability, and am obsessive-compulsive (mainly about positioning things). 95% of the time outside work I spend entirely alone and I see nothing strange in that.

I love my life and wouldn’t change it for anything. I don’t understand other people (or why they’d prefer to spend the day chatting on the beach rather than reading or messing with the computer) and do you know what – I don’t care.

God save me from these people who say “I hate being autistic.” If they weren’t autistic they’d prolly make it up to make themselves appear more interesting.

I scored 43 on the test. I am not really concerned about this I have always been a very quiet, reserved person. I am highly educated and hold a high paying professional position. Being a geek can have advantages.

My real autism score is about 25 and was 20 (I took the test twice as I couldnt find where I stood on some questions). Im not VERY autistic but I have some traits of it in places with my obsessions anyway I took the test to try to place myself in the imaginary world of a very unautistic person and got 5. Then several times I answered all the questions from an autistics typical viewpoint. I could never get it to read 50! The highest I could force it was 48. Congradulations to the person who could actually score a 50 (I cant do it under maximum effort).

I got 31 @ 02:15 in the morning before going to work after c4 hours sleep. I am a 47 yo male with 2 autistic children, a 6yo girl and a 3 yo boy. An above average score, maybe, but by this score should I see my doctor to get a truer assessment done?

I’m 30, scored 39-42; not diagnosed yet; am artistic, a loner, get vexed sometimes when my space is intruded upon. Also I like order. I am punctual, but at times daringly erratic.They say Mozart had aspurgers, along with Andy Warhol. Andy, maybe, however I determining Wolfgang’s mental/emotional state is debatable, surely?..how can we really diagnose a dead man. History must come from the person, not the text book. Anyway, the good news is that aspugers is prevalent in gifted people – so smile, be glad…and good luck everyone.

This is John again. I study psyc for the fun of it. I am interested in autism and research in it. I have a friend ( still very young guy in 20’s – hes 23 and has aspergers) – he finished a degree early 2 summers ago and is very bright but suffered lots of bullying and terrorizing in his high school several years ago due to his problem and the fact that he is ‘different‘. Yet since I picked him up as a friend – I new him as an acquaintance for a few years – his social skills improved markedly. I introduced him to lots of people and now he is sociable+liked a guy. He has difficulties a bit – but has improved a lot. I think they can acqire social skills if they get placed with the right people.

I scored 39, tried again, scored 30.Always been told I am strange.Don’t care. I like being me. I am also narcoleptic. Is there a link? When are they going to devise a test for normality? Would anyone pass it?

Just a thought. Taking MSM helps with my depression.I also take vitamins, as a lot of depression is due to bad nutrition which causes chemical imbalances in the brain.Its best to start taking the tablets before you get depressed though, otherwise you can’t be bothered!

I got 15 which is average took it because I have a grandson who is being tested for autisum at present and wondered if he had got it from me it seems not though. He is only 21/2 so may have been caught earlier enough to be able to have help.

I scored43 but I.ve always known i was'different' At 50 years old I can finally say "no I'm not stupid, clumsy, etc & I don't recognise you because I have face blindness, because i have aspergers syndrome" and it's GREAT!!! I live in a field on the side of a hill with a partner who's very similar, we both indulge our own particular obsessions (music mostly) and put up with each others aggrivating traits and love each other very much because we're lucky enough to have the space and understanding to co exist really well. It's no good trying to fit square pegs into round holes, all my life people have tried to make me fit in socially and you know what .......I don't ! and once I realised that life got better and better! I read somewhere that trying to get aspergers people to join in etc is like 'trying to herd cats' pretty good description i thought!! I'd rather be a cat anyday! ;-)

i scored a 35 and i am 13 years old. what does THAT mean? everyone tells me i might have autism but i dont believe it, after all, i am relatively social, i'm gooa at maths but i dont like it...but i have taken about three autism tests and scored very high in all of them.

I got 35. I've always suspected I may be autistic, but I won't accept this as proof in any way. I have a tendency to be a bit of a hypochondriac, but there is autism in the family.

I think i have autism, but has any one thought of it in a different way, i mean a different prospective. For example, conspiracy theorists are autistic right, do you not think that there are some people who just think pure logic, like who think fashion is just complete crap and when socialising, some people just talk a lowed of rubbish and your expected to nod allong and do a fake laugh, maybe were the people with the right sence, and the rest are just taking in with the made up society, we can see beyond the society. if any one knows what i mean please respond back continueing this threory.

I can't believe you guys, you really think a 50 question test is going to identify anything with any certainty? Looking over your comments I see alot of people apparently having great revelations about themselves, but really it just seems like a group of teenagers trying to join a club.

Autism is a serious problem for some people, don't be so disrespectful.

I scored 42 and I am fine. I know that it is because I don't like other people that much, and prefer to have things under my control. But I am not going to glorify it and say I have autism.

hello all, I have just completed the test and scored 38, people have told me they think I am autistic, and I have always laughed it off!!, oh well. Still got a job, a family, lots of friends and loads of interests. Not really any different to anyone else out there, and nor are all of you.

Just get on with the life you have, be good, respect people and enjoy.

Got 40, bit surprised, as been told by uni ed-psych that i'm dyspraxic. Mentioned ASD and was told impossible as i'm female! At least got a pc,and extra exam time. My 2 sons have traits on spectrum as did my dad, so perfectly normal way of being, just everyone else are nuts!

Have always had problems with people, but hoover up knowledge about obscure stuff, and get stressy about mess and not being able to find things, never mind, if we were all the same life would be very boring!

Have any of you ever heard of MBTI? I think most of you do not have autism or asperger syndrome. Most probably you are an INTP / INTJ (Intravert, iNtuitive, Thinking, Peceiving/Judging) type personality of MBTI.

That is not autism.

I think the test is being made using people with extravert tendencies as a "normal" base. Most people see intravert and dreamy/imaginative people as not normal.

For me the easiest way to tell whether it is autism or INTP/INTJ personality is by telling whether you enjoy repetitive work or not.

An autistic person enjoys repetitive activities (such as watching spinning coin) because he just likes seeing repetitive behavior.

While INTP/INTJ person usually watching a spinning coin to understand how the coin spin / why the coin spin / how come the spin does not last forever, and once he has the answers he will abandon the game and he will be bored by that subject. If he has to do the same repetitive act again, he will probably go crazy out of boredom.

The similarity of both examples is from outside both activities look the same, both are so absorbed by the spinning coin. However, an autistic person is so absorbed in watching the coin just because he likes the repetitive action while INTP /INTJ person is concentrating hard in figuring out why the coin spins.

Hi, I got 34 on the test once and 36 the second time, and fit virtually all the characteristics of autism I have ever read about (stimming, clumsiness, hypersensitivities, odd voice etc etc etc............). However, flashing/spinning things other then coins and rolling pens tend to disturb me as it always looks like something is coming at your eyes, and I have to blink to avoid it feeling painful. Does anyone know of any others out there who DON'T find fans etc fascinating, but scary? Just a thought.

I got 38, I sort of suspected that I may be slightly autistic, as I have a younger brother who is autistic, and I've been noticing SO many similarities in our personalities and reactions.

i scored 38. i am 18. i am on the computer all day every day. i like to program web pages with html. i don't like school because it is crowded and people run into me in the halls. i like to count things over and over and i like to shuffle cards a whole lot. i have all 75 of my family's phone numbers memorized backwards and forwards. i collect shoes. i have 43 pairs. i have a routine for every thing i do. i mean everything. i only eat cerial if the milk is poured first and i don't put toothpaste on my toothbrush if it is dry. i like to type and write and read. but mostly i like to type. but everyone just thinks i'm just weird then my counselor gave me this website to take the test. i don't know how do get diagnosed or any number to call to find out. can anyone give me any information?

Myself, my ex-husband and his brother all have Autistic Disorders. My son is 4 and was diagnosed at 18 months and has been in Therapy since then. The thing with me is that I'm not consistent with anything I do which is opposite from my son. I am addicted to my pc, and work with computers, but at the same time I enjoy my friends as well as alone time(but they are all computer geeks to so...). I'm also good at math and remember numbers and have been called weird ever since elementary school. I'm still learning about ASD and the whole spectrum. Every day is challenge regardless what planet we come and I never claim to be a earthling...

After taking this test I really got to thinking about the questions, and have formed the opinion that this test really is not a basis for detecting autism or similar syndromes. I'm not denying that the answers to the questions can show similar mannerisms in an individual to an autistic individual, but a high score on the test can really just mean one is a quirky, possibly less social, person. This test seems to be a new trend in today's medical world, which is trying to diagnose and medicate every little mental abnormality, or personality quirk. The fact that some adults on this thread are considering a doctors diagnosis because of an internet test is sad. If you are a physically and emotionaly able adult, this test does not change a thing about you. So please people, celebrate your individuality, don't medicate it.

Why do many of you seem to want to have AS?

I scored mid to high 40s and have many classic signed of AS. A person I know in college who studied psyc told me yrs ago I had it but I just laughed it off.

I could care less to be diagnosed but I find a little confort in reading some ppls' day to day experiences and how it correlates to my own. The daunting feeling of driving to a new place, having to know much in advance where to turn, expecting people to do exactly what they say and being disappointed and hurt when they don't. I am old enough to know people are not punctual. I am old enough to know when someone says MAYBE we'll do this or that does mean that we WILL. Despite this, my heart always sinks and my mind wonders what I did wrong.

I am a female in my 20s and am a high achiever. Everything I have ever touched I've done very well at. I am also ahead of the game for someone at my age professionally. Yet, personally, I seem to lack so much. I have very few, if any, friends and no family; those around me are just acquantences. I have never dated or kissed a guy, which apparently is quite shocking to people.

I've always thought this world world was not meant for me but unfortunely I am here. How do you connect to others when you don't understand them at all? How do you when you are extremely uncomfortable? The internet has taken much out but eventually you meet...

i have done a fair amount of research on asd as my son was diagnosed last year, simon baron cohen is an extremely well respected researcher/teacher on this subject (and is sasha baron cohens, aka ali g's cousin, which makes him even more fabulous to me)!

it is possible to score high and not be on the spectrum. but... asd people with mild or without learning disabilities can adapt and adjust to situations, though none the less they feel anxious ect, people with low funtioning autism will have greater learning disablities and find life more dificult to understand and adjust to.

i scored 32, then tried to stay on the fence and scored 37 :-/ my daughter has exuded alot of asd symtoms although has never been diagnosed and is doing very well in school, and i have discovered adhd, dyslexia, autism and all sorts of diagnosis within my family, i have also discovered you can be happy with or without diagnosis of course, but it helps to know in some cases what is causing certain unexplained diferences.

please do some research on simon baron cohens work if youre interested in this topic, and outa frith, if youre interested in this test, its all about the systematic/empathic brain. this would explain the higher number of male asd diagnosis considering generally females have the more empathic brain to start with.

Alright, I scored 24. I'm 17. I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome 12 years ago.

Here's my life story, revolving around Asperger's Syndrome. So read on! (if you feel like it that is... no pressure).

I enjoy using the computer to substitute most of my after-school unoccupied time. I don't exhibit obsessive tendencies, like most Asperger's Syndrome individuals do - there is an exception for when I was younger, however.

Oh, although, at times, I'm very conscious about perfecting my school grades - that's the only aspect that would likely warrant as an obsessive tendency. But that can be justified as I want a high TER for my high school completion.

I'm not a "geek" as many have stereotyped Asperger's Syndrome individauls as being. I have friends, I'm not fascinated by "numbers", "dates" or any other minor and irrelevant details like that. However, if there's a deep interest of concern, I'm capable of remembering the most specific and minor details of them. I go out. I have friends. I'm generally inept in most social occasions - depends on my social surroundings. I'm anxious in new situations - in particular, new social situations. It's difficult to carry out a consistent conversation to a normal extent - again, depends on my social surroundings; if it's a good, close friend, then I'm absolutely fine.

To reiterate; I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, I scored 24 - classed as "above average" - contrary to 35-50: the expected score for Aspeger's Syndrome individuals, thus the accuracy of this test is questionable.

Anyway, this quote here, "I think they can acquire social skills if they get placed with the right people" - posted by John. I agree exactly. This was the case with me, in fact.

I just reckon this quote exemplifies the fact that an Asperger's Syndrome sufferer can in fact acquire a standard social life, merely through the appropriate social surroundings, which hasn't been the case with alot of sufferers.

Yet, conversely, if placed in the incorrect social surroundings, with an inept social ability, you're far more inclined to endure difficulty in forming a social friendship - the case with me, in several situations. Yet, this can be applied to normal people who aren't sufferers, too, remember.

So yeah, this is just my theory, based on my social experiences.

Oh, and on the contrary to the popular myth that "geeks" - i.e. Asperger's Syndrome individuals, are bullied and terrorised throughout school, well, that was never the case with me.

hi I'm Kay, I scored 13 and I was diagnosed with dyslexia,at the age of 20. I am dicating to the computer but I don't always pick up the mistakes so please excuse any that you find. I can read but I find reading very difficult as I have ghosting and movement so I don't read books,unless they have two and then as little as possible.I am a phonetic speller andright words the way I pronounce them, the same word can be written differently each time they cannot visualise the words. only write in cursive capital's a style of my making,which isn't much help as I cannot read phonetic writing so I cannot read back my notes. I right on the slope, and only right when I have to. I have problems remember what what I have just been told,and I have always been told as a child that I was stupid so at the age of 54 I thought I would prove them wrong,and nervously enrolled in a university degree needless to say it was an arts degree as this is one of the gifts of dyslexia. I got in on portfolio not scores and I am now currently in the middle of my honour year. My honours degree work is about dyslexia the way it manifests and its psychological impact. I have heard dyslexia linked to autism and was wondering if anyone can tell me in very simple terms of any study or paper that will show the link is if any.I would be most grateful thank you kay.

PS.a word of advice that took me 40 years to learn. don't label yourselves sometimes it can stop you achieving your goals.

hi kay I just said by bit but when I read Kevin's remarks I felt I just had to reply I have a son who has some of your symptoms with regards to schooling and here has been diagnosed as dyslexic and ADD. he was so depressed and unhappy at school that without my knowledge he tried, as it appear as you are to self medicate. It was the self-medication that increase the depression bought on paranoia raiding extremely antisocial aggressiveand excessive compulsive.I immediately took steps to stop the self-medication and I strongly urge you to do the same as drugs are not an answer.he no longer self Medicaid's and all of the above mentioned symptoms from it have disappeared.it took in three years longer to finish high school but now he is doing a bridging course at Uni and I couldn't be prouderwe all have obstacles in our life which we must not let defeat us so do whatever you have to,go over them, under them, or around them,but whatever you do don't let that stop you.he was so young and have your life to explore this amazing world not all knowledge comes from books.

Jane, I have to agree with you there! Different strokes for different folks. Everyone is unique, these "disorders" seem to be more like steps on the ladder of human conciousness than problems. I know a little boy that is austistic (probably, not professional diagnosed) and he is fanastic. He didn't really begin speaking until he was 4 or 5, but now he speaks like a little adult and even reads at a college level. Autism-shmautism... I think we need more teachers like you who realize it's just a different way of looking at the world. BTW, I scored a 28 on the test- but it could just be that I'm an introvert. I have to agree that I'd much rather go to a library than a party, ha, I love books more than people sometimes, what can I say- they are more interesting than some dude hyped up on ten beers.

I got 42 on this test, and I was not suprised. What suprised me was I got 42 exactly for a different autism test, on wired.com !!

I've taken the test several times and scored from 32 to 40 points. For me its finally a recognition of something I've felt for years was true. I always suspected that I might be autistic. I always wondered why I seemed to be on a different plain than others. And if I had a nickel for everytime someone has told me that what I said was rude, I'd be a rich woman. At least now I know that I should just keep my mouth shut and basically stay away from most people. Maybe I wouldn't get laughed at or made fun of so much. For the most part, I seem to have handled it. I'm in my 50s now and have managed to take care of myself my whole life. But I've also been fired more times than I can count. That never felt very good. But at least now I have a good reason for that happening. At least now I understand that I'm not just the idiot people want me to believe. My IQ is 130 so I always wondered why that was happening. For me, this realization is just that, finally an understanding of why I act the way I do. I'm not going to beat myself up anymore for wanting to stay in my apartment and play on the computer all day. Now I understand.

I've bin told I'm autistic like by a few people including a friends mother whose trained to spot autistic signs. now if only I could my GP to listen to me!

My daughter is currently being diagnosed for autism, however, before you all sit and drown yourselves in sorrows, realize one test won't diagnose you. Furthermore, a lot of the world's geniuses are being diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome because they have a few quirks. A lot of you guys are just smart with a few quirks. I got 40, I am doing graduate program in fluid mechanics. I like mathematics, but have difficulty if i have to solve an equation. I have difficulty following classes, but i like to do research. Classes are always hardwork for me.

Hi I scored 36, i know i'v got dyslexia and only recently considerd i might have autism. one problem i have is looking people in the eye when talking. I scored 33, i think i have some mental condition as i've been depressed for years now, & am pretty introvert but can be the complete opposite another day, it dont happen that often though.

I've just scored 30 and 33 on the re-test. I have 2 diagnosed Autistic Children and a 3rd son in the process. I am a medical doctor. I'll have to see a specialist now.

I scored a 37. I have never been able to relate to people or be social. I am a housekeeper at a hotel with a lot of politics. Politics are not my forte. I don't understand. I would like a diagnosis but every psycologist I have seen would rather try and date me or they strike up an "interest in me" and don't get down to brass tacks. I don't understand that either. I think my employment would be more to my ability and understanding of my condition, if I had a diagnosis. They think I am a princess who wants things her way when all I want is to do what I can do best. I do repetitive things alot more better and I am good at the computer. So Laundry would fit me better and if they gave me a shot at night autitor I would be great. For starters, I scored a 32 then a 36 on the re-try (as I took it the second time I actually thought I was being more honest and expected a lower score??)

I've never been good in social situations. I've never had many friends. Always one or two close acquaintances, but not what I would call friends. When I think about how I act in social situations, I realize that I just imitate those who are around me so that I fit in better.

While I don't think I have too much trouble interpreting language or expressions in general (I still still have trouble "reading between the lines"), I have a hard time expressing myself properly and often offend people by saying things that are rather rude or pretentious without realizing it. I tend not to consider other peoples fellings and I hate myself for it.

I'm pretty good at math (I have a B.S. in math and physics and I'm just starting my masters in math) but terrible at anything that requires writing and explaining myself. It always comes out as one long confusing rant on paper.

I don't know what to do. Even if I were diagnosed with something, what difference would it make? I try my best to fit in, and I do better now than when I was a kid, but I still don't feel 'normal.' I feel like I'm just pretending.

I'm crying now just thinking about my lonely childhood and I'm sure that I'm ranting a bit, so I'll stop. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

i scored 30........wow as an adult thats gone through school and college so far with out anything being recognised and then to try and diagnose your self because you've always known you have been different from anyone else. teachers in schools need to recognise signs of autism to be able to help children at an early age.

i was first made aware of autism when we had a little boy start our nursery with autism. as i read up about it i began to recognise symptoms with in myself.

My condition and symptoms have improved dramatically through therapy.

I scored 34 first time. I am exceptional in mathematics and computers. I used to have trouble reading between the lines, describing and writing how I feel.

With therapy, I can now better identify my feelings and can better read people.

hi people, took the test and was quite relieved to have done so. i scored 32 1st time, then 34, and after studying the questions i noticed i was answering some questions incorrectly. this was not intentional, i found some of them confusing e.g. the 1 about being last to get a joke, i.e. i have on occasion been in group situations where a joke was told, and to the others i would have seemed the last to 'get it' but in fact had got it 1st, and made no reaction. i found i had to try and answer by looking at myself thru the eyes of others? 3rd time i scored 38, but hear this, i dont want to have a syndrome or a condition, i am not trying to "up" my score, i genuinely believe there is something about me which is so different from the average person that it has and still is causing me misery. i think we should get together, if there is no help group, we should make 1! and we should include anybody with any of these 'traits' whether they have 1 or the full 50, and regardless of diagnosis or not.

now to those of you who say 'get over it, live with it' and other stuff like that, i feel sad for you. you have no idea what you are saying to these people, they who have suffered thier whole lives with these multitude of traits, which put them apart from society, leave them feeling lonely and alienated, left out, emotionally crippled, misunderstood, and much, much , more. would you say to the blind "get over it and see"? or tell someone paralysed to get up and walk? it is so easy to have compassion when you can see a physical trait, not so with the mental ones. if you have not experienced the things these people are suffering, then please leave them alone, and most of all dont be negative and tell them to get over it, it wont work.

and to those who cant spell 2 gud i, can understand all of u, u r communicating and that is gud! so ignore those sayin ur grammer an spelin aint rite, the lingo needs the fat cuttin out of it anyway!

it seems to me that most of these traits can be overcome with the help of others who have done so, i know that if i took the test 10 yrs ago, i would have scored higher, i have changed, so there is hope, and then we always will have our gift..

I'm 24 and I'm starting to see how obviosly there is something wrong with my social abilities. I'm considered artistically gifted. A lot of people here have written about problems with other. I understand each one of you and how hard it is to live your life feeling like this. I cry all the time that people dont like me. When I'm talking to people no one seems to look at me or talk to me. I feel invisible and I try so hard to interact and say something interesting and fit in. Work is hell. I work at a small place and I was the only person there not invited to a wedding. I just dont understand why I'm such a social outcast. I want so badly to be liked but everyone alwasy thinks that I'm a wierdo. I have one friend and a husband and no one else ever shows an interest in me. I wish there was some way to makes this better.

Hi everyone, I've done the test several time and scored an average of 42. Quite high but not totally unexpected really. I struggled at school with reading and writing but only found out recently that I have dyslexia. Since then I found that I also have a degree of ADHD (becoming easily distracted by subtle sounds and things other people don't even notice). More recently I've focus on my social problems (the tendency to take people literally, difficulty reading body language or putting myself in someone elses shoes) and began to suspect I may have high functioning autistm. There is of course some danger in self diagnosis and I have thought of speaking to the doctor to confirm my suspitions...But on reflection I don't really see what a diagnosis of autism would achieve, perhaps when I was younger I might have got extra time in exams or more support. But in the adult world I find that although people are generally simpathetic, at work or socially you either cope or go under (most of the time I cope, a few times I've gone under...but managed to re-surface). I seems to find the things everyone else can do effortless a real challage. Inspite of this however, if could change I probably wouldn't. The disabilities caused by my autism have led my brain to adapt and develop in new ways to deal with my many and varied problems. I firmly believe that without my dyslexia I wouldn't be aable to paint and draw as well as a can. Without my AD (my wandering mind) I would have stumbled across many of the ideas and theories of which I am most proud. And my tendency to make autistically inspired social faux pas' has led me to be more tolerant of other people's mistakes and to develop a strong ethically framework by which I live my life.

I scored 33 and have always felt like an "outcast". But does that make me autistic? Possibly/maybe. Does it matter (I'm 28!) It might explain a few things about my "odd" behaviour so that's cool. Nice to know I'm not alone! :-)

Really interesting reading all these. It's good to know that there are other people just like me. Got 34. I function fine, but i get really anxious in social situations and when meeting new people. I get freaked out by tiny changes in the appearance of people i know (unhelpful), but at the same time i can visualise complex equations in my head, obsessively observe tiny details, and model 3d ideas very easily, all of which are fantastic for my architecture course. I have just started uni, and seem to have taken my strengths into account(working loads and really ejoying it), and my weaknesses (haven't really gone out much, or met many of the people i live with), in a way that is the complete opposite of what all of my friends do. They all find the work hard and the socialising esay, whereas for me its the other way around. I kind of knew why before, but the test confirms it. at the end of the day though, i get on fine, just find it a bit harder in some aspects and easier in others. so nothing is going to change. thanks for having all these comments, it was cheered me up to see other people thinking in my own strange ways :-)

I scored a 38. Upon viewing the characteristics of autism I can say that I definetly have it. Apparently, it is more likely to occur in people who are highly intelligent. I'm pretty sure I am only average intelligence though. Nevertheless, I possess most of the characteristics right down to fascination of spinning objects. I have always had difficulty in communication. My mind always wanders right in the middle of a conversation. I cannot make eye contact. I enjoy solitude more than anything else. I guess I am a decent at math compared to everything else I do. I'm not gifted in anything though. I did get a B.S. in computer programming which, I suppose, is the the ideal career for someone like myself. I don't feel that Autism is a disease but rather a personality trait. However, it is nice knowing that many others share the same traits and that we can all be classified under a specific label based on those traits. Now all I have left to do is determine which of my parents are to blame for this. :)

I scored a 47. Then again, I'm diagnosed with AS, so it wasn't a great surprise.

I got 29, but I would say I was a perfectly normal functioning adult. In my view, the test is imperfect. For instance, I would rather visit a museum than a theatre, but this is largely because West End tickets now cost upward of £25 for the cheap seats alone, whereas many museums are free. Does this make me "autistic"? I think not. Just frugal. And everyone can remember certain phone numbers, anniversaries, dates, I expect.

The famous showman, P.T. Barnum, once put his name to the tendency of an audience to pick out the parts of a statement that apply to them (hey, I work with computers! and sometimes I find it hard to get on with people!) while overlooking or dismissing the parts that didn't (can't draw buildings like Stephen Wiltshire). That is why horoscopes are so popular; every reader can find a part of the prediction that describes him, personally. And that, I suspect, is why so many people are suddenly discovering for the first time here that they have a hitherto unsuspected disability. Hey, I find it too much effort to be tactful sometmes, but that's not my fault! I've got a disability! Society's to blame! People ought to be more understanding!

So, anyhow, to all you people out there who are casting yourselves as victims of society because some online test has implied you're Disabled in some way. I'd say, it's just a quiz. Get over it.

I work with children with autism and that has convinced me that I have a mild variety of the condition. Some might say that if you work with people with ASD for long enough you then think everyone has autism. Not so. But maybe I like working with ASD kids because I empathise with the stress they feel, the desire to be alone, the feeling that social interaction is such hard work (even though I've learned to be quite good at small-talk, while missing lots of bits of conversation), the distractedness, the constant fears of little things (as they are seen by non-ASD people) and the feeling that everyone's trying to stop me doing what I really like doing (e.g. being alone with my books, videos and DVDs and my thoughts).

My long-suffering wife has, over the years, helped me to recognise my autism. This has been a great relief to me as I previously thought I was just a selfish, insensitive swine who couldn't hold down a meaningful relationship. Her sympathy and support has meant that I've, thus far, been able to.

But though I feel better about myself, now I know my difficulties can be understood, I still feel that my stress levels and autistic traits are getting worse (or more intense). Comsequently, I struggle most when not at work - when its less structured - even though I look forward to weekends and holidays and often dread going back to work.

It is great finding blogs like this and finding similar people who experience some of the things I feel. The AQ also gave me some kind of formal validation (as I know Simon Baron-Cohen knows what he's talking about) whether or not I go down the formal diagnosis path.

I have read a number of posts here that people wrote and it seems to me that a lot of them consider Autism or Asperger Syndrome to be something like a disease, or something bad. I'm almost eighteen, and I think It was when I was fourteen or thirteen that my mom took me to a psychiatrist and I was diagnosed with "functioning Autism", probably like many of you. Anyways, I have always had a sort of pride about being Autistic. I was special [literally]. I had my own world and no one could understand it. I could go there and be alone and no one els would ever be able to be in it. And yes, I have many signs of Autism and I discovered that I can NEVER say what I want to say. I can think it through, but if I open my mouth it doesn't ever come out the way I want it to. But I found out that I could write. I love writing and I've found that I'm not such a bad writer.

I want Everyone to know this, Autism is something special that allows you to be in touch with another 'dimension' so to speak. We can hear and see things that other people can't. We think differently and I believe that of all the people in the world, it is Autistics who are the most human. We may not be able to express feelings, and we might even subconsciously create other personalities to hide them, but we have feelings. They may not be what people would normally have feelings of or for, but they are there.

Wow 33! Never even considered this, nor being diagnosed as such, nor even sure about it now. I'm a 37yr freelance IT-professional with a master degree in Electrical Engineering. Eventually got here because social and business events give me such a hard time.

I scored a 36, I fit many of the characteristics of Aspergers Syndrome, and I struggle heavily with math, preferring to learn through things being broken down into steps + repetition

I scored a 44 the first time, 42 the second time and went back up to 44 the third time, after "trying" to be less regimented about certain anwsers. My husband scored a 12. I'm a recovering alcoholic. I drank to fit into social situations and getting sober 2 years ago was like suddenly being an awkward 10-year old again. I'm also a visual artist. Most of the time I work in solitude, but I also have to have additional jobs in order to fund some of my projects. Looking for new work is debilitating for me. I would rather read the dictionary or the phone book than what's on The New York Times bestseller list. In my 20's I was diagnosed with dysthymic dysphoric disorder and I also have some ADD issues.

I'm not sure what having an official diagnosis would do at this point, though I'm 45 and am having an immense amount of trouble "networking" in my career. (a concept I've never truly understood.)

My husband and I argue over a ton of stuff that we probably wouldn't argue over if I wasn't such a stickler for semantics. Understanding more about AS has helped me notice what triggers my anger and anxieties.

Interestingly enough, one of my very favorite books was a book I read in my highschool psychology class, called "Dibs, In Search of Self." I've carried that book around with me since highschool. I related very strongly to Dibs and his autism, but never figured 25 years ago why.

I scored between 33-36. I'm 44 years old and am finally realizing why I've had such a difficult time. As a child it was terrible. Being queer didn't help. Anyway, as I've come to realize that I (and my parents and my thre siblines) are all very likely living on the autism spectrum, it all makes much more sense. I have a niece who i believe is also AS. We're all considered very "intense" and "compulsive" and "overwhelming". Ha ha ha. I know for a fact, as a young young kid, I was diagnosed with High Functioning Autism. Took the test 3 times. got an 18 on the first try, a 20 on the second, and a 22 on the last. Yep.

Well, I guess we all want to stick out and be something special. I just found out that my kid is autistic regarding to some, at the moment, popular tests. OK. Surfing around the internet I find this "autism test page". My result = 32. Who made the test? What are we measuring? Let us assume that it is not bull shit. People with high scores are not normal I understand. Normal people to me always was creatures who like to gather up around tables to eat and talk, complaining about other people being slim and rich. Wonder why? Leave the meat sacks behind for the moment! We can always get back to help them later, when we have some resources! My kid is just FINE to me!

I agree with Anonymous (Feb 1, 2006).  If you take the test and it says you scored this number doesn't mean you are autistic.  Go see a doctor for a true diagnosis. It is probably just your personality type -- see Meyers- Briggs personality test.  However, if you are ok with listening to the same 3 songs everyday, 7 days a week straight 24 hours a day for months at a time...  or eating 'ONLY' broccoli and corn FOR DINNER(because of the colors)  for 3 years straight ... you don't have or want to deal or talk with anyone in your family including your mother, father, sister , grandmother for years at a time... anyone) then  you are probably autistic.   I know because I am truly autistic and I've gone through this crap all my life.  Mines was caused from hydrocephalus- brain structural damage.  I've been to many psychologists and been diagnosed and the tests on these websites mean nothing -- see meyers-briggs personality test.   It's not fun and it's not a game! Your not autistic... it's your own true personality!

my son has recently been diagnosed at age 3, with asd so i thought a bit of "SELF-EXAMINATION" might be in order. i scored 25 then 27 where the female is average is 15. quite interesting as it may be a hereditary condition...!

I scored 33. Explains alot but doesn't depress me. I seem to use the ability to block things to focus on something I enjoy. I taught myself to draw and paint very quickly, I learned reverse code engineering in 3 months etc etc etc. Problem I have is keeping the interests going before moving onto something else.....

Just got 32 i find im ok chatting to new people but dont like clubbing much im really do love computers built a few and love physics and some types of maths, never thought i could have this problem till one of my mates pointed it out to me today and i do find sometimes i just keep asking questions get bored easily and have to fiddle with things also i love making things and can get really involved in it however i do enjoy sports and really like judo and i thought that fighting would be the last thing on someones mind who has this condition :s and been doing it for 7 years now

I have been diagnosed with autism OCD Dyselxia and Dypraxia all in the space of three months. I found that the hardest one to deal with was autism. The cumpulsive part of OCD is also hard. I scored 32 on the test. I am 14 so I have the rest of my life ahead of me. I am going to go in to a job with Computers/gaming. Being 14 is hard as I don't truly know the full extent of all of them but I'm sure I will find out in due corse. I am also good at art and music. I am 16 and have been struggling with depression for three years, i know there was some speculation towards whether or not that was a cause, so i thought it was a good point. As far as I know there is no history of ASD in my family, though there are some nuerological diseases.

I wouldn't say that i have any close friends. i know a lot of people, peripherally, but find being alone with anyone arduous, except for one friend. i distance myself from people because i prefer to be alone. i dont trust people easily and am often suspicious as to their intentions, sometimes even my parents. no one has ever made note of this because i am not very open. i am very much in my head and lie, or dont speak my mind, to avoid uncomfortable situations.

Hi, I have an 11 year old nephew who is autistic, and since I've now heard a lot about the symptoms/behaviour patterns involved, I have realised that, actually, it sounds like the way I behave!

I'm 45 now, and have had problems with depression since I was about 14, though I've never actually had the courage to see anyone about it. I have trouble with social situations, there are only one or two people that I would really call friends, and the number of times I've just feigned illness to avoid going to weddings, etc, is anybody's guess; I have problems if I can't stick to my usual routines - I always go to the same places by the same route, always have a bath at the same time, etc; and I know I'm obsessive about things, (eg, music - if I like an artist, I have to know everything about them, I have to hear everything they've done, you know the drill).

I have had a partner for 18 years and have a son who is 16 this year, and I basically look for a quiet life with them, which is not always easy with a teenage boy of course, just like it's not easy for them to put up with me sometimes. But for the last twelve (?) years I can see that I'm becoming more and more insular, barely going out at all, and spending nearly all my time with my obsessions.

Anyway, the reason I started this is because I've just done the test and scored 39, and am now worried that I was right - I do have a problem. I'm a little frightened of what might happen next if I go to see a doctor. I don't know whether I want someone to give me advice, or reassure me, or what.....but I do need something.....

PS. Just to let you know that before I posted this I must have re-read and re-typed this eight or ten times.....surely that can't be "normal"?

I'm 18 and did the test twice both scoring at 24, i don't know if i have got autism, but my family seem to think i have. Most of the statements on these websites relate to how i feel. Is there anywhere i can go to get advice and help with this please. I am very depressed at the moment and don't want to do anything stupid but i feel like i don't fit in anywhere at the moment. Hi K. Allen. I don't really know what to say, but I'll do my best. I am two years younger than you. I scored a bit higher than you did but i also relate to a lot of what has been posted here. Since I was thirteen i started having problems with fitting in, especially in large groups. I tried several times to find a smaller group of friends that i could hang out with, but it never really worked out, and there was never more than three. Recently I had a session with a psychologist and he said something along the lines of being borderline, but I don't really think he knew very much about it, he wasn't a specialist. Pretty much everyone I know is in my class, but i have started slowly explaining to them how I am, and they have been very supportive. It has made me more relaxed about it and stopped me from worrying when I do weird things like writing down number sequences or patterns on paper or making humming noises when its too noisy or too much is happening. Im now 25, Ive been diagnosed with Dyselxia and work in ICT. Although want to move in to programming.

hi my sun has just been picked up with a suspichion of asd and whilst reading through pages of the subject i noticed that i seem to have alot of the traites. i just took the aq test and scored 34 and im now unsure what to do. should i purse it further or forget about becouse im not 100% sure and dont want to go midering the dr for nothing and looking stupid.

I have not been diagnosed with autism. I am attending my local community college and have been invited to join the honor's society, due to my high academic standing. My social life is non-existant however. At times, I can socialize quite well with older people, but when it comes to interacting with my peers, I am totally helpless. I want to communicate and build relationships but it seems like I either can not think of anything to say, or I sound stupid and slow when I do talk. I have a few people in my life that have tried to reach out to and befriend me, but due to my lack of conversational skills I have chosen to withdraw and am completley isolated. I am 21 and have never been on a date. I would love to find a girl my age who also suffers from social isolation and befriend her. She and I could be together and have one another and could just forget the cruel world around us. Since it is highly unlikely I will ever be confident enough to socialize and communicate, I will likely end my life before long, if things don't quickly begin to change.

i was kind of worried about being autistic so i searched for the test and tried it. i got 32, so am a bit worried. my brother has aspergers which was why i was thinking about it and as i was i realised i might be, and now this test says i am. it's silly i'm worried though. i told my girlfriend i thought i was and she asked me if that would change anything just knowing i am, and i realised it wouldn't. even so, concerned : /

My psychologist daughter suggested that I was mildly autistic, partly because I'm very sensitive to noise and smells. I scored 35. I have a high IQ so I guess I fake the sociability stuff by being articulate - and I was a good looking girl so no problems dating. I'm 52 now and have got my life reasonably together (married, 2 kids) - wish PCs had been around when I was a teenager though. I became an accountant...and am now rethinking by taking an external math degree. My message is that if you can act passably normal you can probably aspire to a normal-ish life. Read lots of fiction to learn how to behave. (It's hard work keeping it up though...)

i am a28 year old male who for the past ten years has been suffering from multiple unexplainable physical and mental health problems wich doctors have been unable to find a cause.this has been very frustrating as before all my problems began i considered myself to be quite bright.my mind had left me so baddly in 2008 i considered suicide to be the only way of escapeing my torture and i do consider 10 years of not being my usuall self especialy mentaly a form of torture.u have deppression,u have thrush,u have a cold,u might have A,D,D,Ithink its the flu,u are just very ran down,i will have some blood taken and tested,etc etc etc,are all of the things i had to endure coming from my doctors mouth.my dentist assured me there were no probs with my teeth and gums.back to the doctor i went,absolutely wasted by all that i had been going through i begged for an answer just to be told we have done all we can,thats when suicide became a reality for me.i thought i was being punished by god.but then i made a shocking discovery on the contents of a certain substance in my eight silver amalgam fillings,MERCURY MERCURY MERCURY!All eight fillings removed and replaced with allternatives and guess what,all my problems have gone and there was a very long list of them,the worst of them being glue ear,tinnitus and brain fog.50% mercury each one of those fillings contain.not very apropriate to call them silver unless just to cover up the fact that they contain mercury and continuously leak the stuff into your body.the evidence is all on the net,a few things to punch into your web browser are,SMOKEING TEETH,AMALGAM POISONING, and my personal favorite aired on the bbc in 1994,BBC PANORAMA AMALGAM POISONING.the evidence on the net is very damning.thanks for reading this!WOOHOO!I have my life back!

Hi guys/gals, Im 26 years old. I have been convinced I have an ASD for years. Which has caused me a lot of probs with my family and work(nearly losing my job). Everytime I speak to my doctor about it he poo poos the idea which makes me feel even worse about trying to get a diagnosis. I recently got 43 on the test which didn't surprise me.

Im an avionics engineer with a geeky obsession to maths and physics and currently studying towards an engineering degree.

I want to get diagnosed so I can start to learn more about myself and also most importantly help my really low self confidence(im a very good looking girl but my self confidence holds me back so I hide my looks and body.). Im getting fed up as being treated like an idiot by my small minded family because Im different.

On a happy note I have a really loving understanding boyfriend who loves me for being different.x

Has anyone got advice on the next step to getting diagmosed by a proffesional?.x

I scored 41 - does anyone know how serious this test REALLY is? I do have some problems (I´ve been told I´ve got Borderline Personality Syndrome) but I was just fooling around when I did this test - and I can´t really imagine I could be autistic, I always thought autistic people are really smart with maths and stuff like that and have problems with their language (like not learning to talk at the "usual" age, not being able to understand metaphors, ect.) and I was able to speak like a regular person at 2, learn other languages quite easily but can´t even subtract simple numbers properly....??!?
