New names for Vellum
Since, as alluded yesterday, I need to retitle Vellum a little, I’m interested in suggestions. I’d really like to call it ‘Vellum [something]‘ (or possibly ‘[something] Vellum’, because then I can keep all the Googlejuice and links I have built up already, which would be rather nice. Ideas? So far, my best effort is ‘Vellum Leaf’, which isn’t great. Creative people, help me out!
Call it “Polygon“. It’s simple, expandable, has many sides, and contains the requisit Python joke :-)

I like Composing Stick, but I guess it’s more appropriate for some kind of MT-based tool. And I checked Papyrus, because it has “py” in it, but it’s the name of some XML SQL reporting thingy. Then I remembered: I always thought that if someone came up with something like Mason, only it used Python, they should call it Monty. Then, if they expanded it, they should call it Full Monty. And Vellum is clearly more than just a way of embedding Python in your site templates… !Sometimes I’m just too creative for my own good.

Palimpsest is already taken. It’s not used by any blogging software of which I’m aware, but then, neither is Vellum (except for this particular software, of course). I don’t remember off the top of my head what the existing Palimpsest software does, though. If not Vellum, what about Parchment? I don’t think anyone has that one. Or maybe DeadTree?

I can’t get Gollum off my brain to think of anything else, so how about GoVellum. I’ll try harder next time.

How about the obvious, pyVellum?Seems to get across the important points, it’s in python and it’s a classy way to present a weblog.Although Vellum GmbH may not like such a small change you could try Vellum for Python or Python Skin Vellum.Just a thought.
